Why are we so set on holding anybody but the shooter responsible? Manufacturers do not sell directly to the public. That is the business of the retailer. Retailers who work within the constraints of the law should not be forced to answer for the actions of someone who made a bad decision, unless it can be demonstrated they knew that person was unfit under the law. Misusing a gun is a choice made by the individual. Why should the individual get off on a "mental health" defense (if he or she is not killed during the event) but we're dead set on finding a scapegoat?
