We need sensible protections for our water supply. The objective should not be corporate profits or losses. Unfortunately, industries change - the abacus, for example, is no longer a major tool for the accounting industry. If we, as a nation, had insisted that we needed to support the abacus industry regardless of technological advances, would we have denied the value of the computer? We have to continue to be flexible in our mindset regarding employment and retrain workers when specific industries become obsolete. It is wrong to suggest that we need to damage water supply to keep an industry-segment operating.
