While concurring that school resource officers should experience immense training in order to remediate school violence, the implementation of such proposal should be reformed to where its jurisdiction favors state and local governments rather than the federal bureaucracy. Throughout current national time periods schools are evidently viewed by shooters as a advantage to capitalize in taking innocent lives. This precedent is not only irrefutable but the response should result in immediate action on behalf of morality. Regardless of the implications, while administrative and federal agencies such as the department of education may possess a vehement perspective on preserving the students lives, after all their only obligation is to provide/ensure a stable education system that is comprehensive while concise that meets the individual needs of each student. Respectably, while the department of education conveys a solution to alleviating such a harsh epidemic of school violence (particularly in public schools) there authority within the manner should be little to zero. Coming from a high school sophomore and Roman Catholic I definitely will not deny that these shooters intentions are not only reprehensible but just overall evil and despicable. There should be action to prevent school violence. However, while prioritizing the safety and well being of the school environment, we must not forget the liberties of the state and local governments rather than the federal bureaucracies. For those that support the original context of the proposal, keep in mind that you can still preserve life without having federal involvement. I mean I guess I just fail to understand the irony and misconception of some members on the left that feel that the authority of the federal government throughout state and local governments is imperative! Forgive me for getting partisan but these are sincere questions we have to ask ourselves before having the taxpayer pay out of their pockets to fuel this proposal if ratified. Preserve lives! Take action wisely! While collaborating to combat gun violence (disregarding partisan politics) we must acknowledge protecting the state/local liberty while preserving lives simultaneously.
