We should obviously be involved in helping humanitarian crises overseas, but our priority needs to be domestic. I'd support an overarching reform that stipulated a 2:1 etc standard for domestic aid versus foreign aid, but a bill that strictly allocates money abroad with no consideration for what's happening on our own streets is one that I don't think I could support. Maybe with a more detailed breakdown of where the $100,000,000 would go, I could support it, but in its current state I could not. Additionally, the timing of this bill with the proposed cuts to most departments in Trump's budget and proposed merging of the state department and USAID seems almost suspicious. Right now, I'd support this bill being referred back to committee until a more detailed bill (maybe one with some perspective) could be made public.
