First, gun control is not about taking guns from us. Thank the NRA for its fear mongering policies that so effectively keep the real issue from having an effective and intelligent solution. Now I own guns. And I like guns. But more important than my right to own guns is our children's rights to safety and security. It is our job to protect them. Think of it this way. Children by instinct look to the adults around them for protection. And it's all of our jobs to provide it in the best possible way. Not with ignorant and outdated arguments like protection from an overzealous government. We will still have guns but we don't "need" assault weapons. And selling them is the fairest and safest way to get them off the streets.
