I agree with this because I agree with the proven concept of the Thorium reactor. Thorium is a safe and meltdown free alternative to the harmful isotopes currently used by nuclear power plants. It's an extremely abundant resource worldwide, and the nuclear waste produced is far less dangerous. While I do feel we need new ways to dispose of dangerous nuclear waste, thorium reactors produce much less waste. Thorium cannot be used to make nuclear weapons, and the waste which is produced is far less radioactive with an extensively shorter half time than that of its counterparts.
