Before I retired where ever I worked in the private sector you had a choice to make. Salary or hourly. A salaried employee received fixed weekly or bi-weekly pay, vacation based on time employed and one week personal/sick time per year. Hourly received higher unit per hour but no vacation, holidays, or sick time, you were paid for your hours. This system works, is fair and should be applied to all workers in particular local, state, and federal employees of which quite a few abuse the benefits they get! And everyone should be accountable for their performance and poor performance resulting in termination of employment. Protectionism of employees has to be restricted!
