Immigrants are what make this country what it is. There are a lot smarter people in the world than we have in our own back yard, so if we want to stay ahead in the developed world, we should bring in as much skill as possible. If an American sees this as competition, then it's time to be competitive; master your field, hone skill sets, get qualifications etc. We live in a very free country, if you want a job then earn it. The only time this argument becomes invalid is if the immigrant skilled labor is being hired for cheaper than the market rate for their specific skill set, in which case this is just a new form of outsourcing, but stateside. And if that is the case then we should not abide it.
