While I do support the removal of some Civil War monuments Flags and even statues that are displayed in public oh, I do not agree with totally eliminating all references to the Civil War, the treatment of Native Americans oh, and the treatment of the Japanese during World War II. This quote is attributed to George Santyano "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it." We should never forget any of our history particularly those moments that were not precisely are Shining or leading moments such as McCarthyism the persecution of Native Americans the internment of Japanese-American Citizens. We should not forget the history of other parts of the world that show us what path to power dictators follow oh, such as denigrating the Press and suppressing a free press. There are many other steps and there are many other examples throughout world history. The Civil War was not one of our finest moments for either side but we should definitely remember what happened and the heroes that fought on both sides. That does not mean that we should tolerate hatred Prejudice white supremacist or neo-nazism. My point is that we cannot forget history otherwise we will repeat it including Nazi like States and other dictatorships which are anathema to the American beliefs of justice and liberty for ALL.
