The bill bans free toys in kids’ meals and individual menu items\nthat do not meet certain health criteria. In order for a restaurant to offer a\ntoy with a meal, the meal must have:

\n\n

Under 500 calories
Less than\n600 milligrams of sodium;
Less than 35% of total calories from fat, except for nut, seeds,\npeanut butter or nut butter fat;
Less than 10% percent of total calories from saturated fats,\nexcept for saturated fats in nuts, seeds, peanut butter, or other nut butter;
Less than 10% of total calories from added sugars or sweeteners\nwith calories;
1/2 cup of fruit or\nvegetables OR 1 serving of whole-grain products; and
A beverage, if included, has to be : less than 150 calories; less than\n35% of total calories can come from fat; less than\n15 % of total calories can come from saturated fat; less than 10% of total\ncalories can come from added sugars and/or caloric sweeteners; with no added sweeteners;\nand no added caffeine

\n\n

The bill\nalso bans free toys on individual menu items that do not meet certain\nstandards. Individual menu items must have:

Less than\n200 calories;
Less than 200 milligrams of sodium;
Less than 35% of total calories from fat, except for fat in\nnuts, seeds, peanut butter, or other nut butter;
Less than 10% of total calories from saturated fats, except\nfor saturated fat in nuts, seeds, peanut butter, or other nut butter;
Less than 10% of total calories from added\nsugars ; and
Contains one half cup of fruit or vegetables or one\nserving of whole-grain products.
