I can see a lot of excuses being made about how other factors affect pay. The fact is, this bill is intended for instances in which gender is the only factor that affects pay. Women are half the talent in this country and therefore must be payed equally for a more functional economy. Though I'm not sure how affective legislation will be when companies can claim a whole host of other reasons for paying women less, it is a step in the right direction, and it shows that the people of the US are committed to gender equality.
