Please vote to protect my right to live. Late term abortions are usually the result of unthinkably difficult situations, there is no reason to expand the suffering for families facing such such difficult decisions. There are conditions like pre-eclampsia and Hellp syndrome which can be fatal for both mother and child, and are only fully resolved by ending a pregnancy regardless of the viability. I experienced Hellp syndrome in my first pregnancy, fortunately it was far along enough that both my son and I were able to survive thanks to an emergency c-section. If my condition had worsened at 20 weeks rather than at 32 weeks, the only way to save my life would still have been ending the pregnancy. There are many sad situations where continuing a pregnancy will only bring horrific pain and suffering, in which cases ending a pregnancy is sometimes the kindest most compassionate thing to do. Some situations are not completely dissimilar to removing life support from a terminal and suffering or completely brain dead adult. Many abnormalities which are incompatible with life aren't observable prior to 20 weeks, a 20 week limit on abortions is unreasonable and arbitrary limit which will cause great suffering and kill women. These are decisions which should be left to women and their doctors rather than male politicians who will never know the very real horror of late term pregnancy complications.
