Do not eliminate the EPA. I remember the days when the shad ceased to run in the Delaware River or were inedible. When the colors, contents and odors were not of the natural world. I remember Love Canal and toxic waste dumped wherever there was an open space that someone felt should be the location of their unwanted garbage. The leavings of the industrial era have not been pretty or kind to our planet. The use and toss mentality is it's hangover. Even in the rural areas, we live with driving distance of Superfund sites. Some in the process of being cleaned, some still hanging waiting to begin. Don't take away the EPA - the environmental watchdog that helps ensure the future of this planet.
