This bill would amend federal labor law to prevent states from enforcing right-to-work laws, thus creating a situation where workers in any state could be forced to join a union in order to work at their job. It would preempt all existing right-to-work laws at the state or territorial level.

Right-to-work laws don’t preclude labor unions from operating in that state, but they do give workers a choice in whether they want to join a union for their job. Currently there are 25 states plus Guam which have right-to-work laws.
