I am torn over this.
One part of me says: we need to just butt out. We contributed to the current situation there, and not in a productive way. Our failure to understand the situation ‘on the ground’ was exacerbated by the desire to exploit Libyan oil reserves (doesn’t it always come down to oil?). We need to get out and stay out.
Another part of me says: we made this mess, we need to contribute to cleaning it up. And that means no strings attached. Help them rebuild. Help them recover. But stay out of their politics.
The latter is the larger part of me . . . but not by much.
