Education in this country is a shambles. Educational materials are convoluted mess full of errors and poorly worded information. They simply get a rubberstamp from those were supposed to be validating them. Teachers are forced to pay attention a plethora of codes and cross-references mass of processes and methods they are supposed to carry out regardless of whether they've been demonstrated a successful, or even appropriate in every situation — or even most situations. Someone got a doctorate along the way for each of those methods or techniques and then all of them piled up on the teachers. Teachers are required to teach without knowing what content is going to be tested. Subsequently it's a crapshoot as to whether you can teach the kids the content that is going to be tested. Even if you've educated your children well on the materials, it's a pretty good chance they'll do poorly on the state tests. Teachers don't get to write their own tests, as a result instead of educating the children and testing their level of learning, teachers end up spending all their time trying to teach to the test without knowing what's actually going to be tested. I am appalled that after this long in this country we still don't have any idea how to properly educate children.we did a much better job in the 50s and 60s than we're doing now.
