The American Dream is about equal opportunity, not handouts. Our problem is not college students not being able to “afford” food. Our problem is too many young adults getting into debt for an overpriced “education” and an absurd emphasis our work culture places on a piece of paper called a “degree,” where true, practical knowledge obtained outside of the university walls (often for free or at a minute fraction of the price) is often overlooked because of arbitrary prerequisites of letters following our names. Stop asking for handouts and take responsibility for your life. If you won’t, then no one else will!
