The rise of China began in 1971 when the People’s Republic of China was recognized as the legitimate representative of China in place of the Nationalist government of Taiwan.
Then, global free trade saw China as the go-to country for cheap labor and maximum profits, without burdensome regulations.
This, coupled with the change in policy from Maoist Communist style to a more Government-controlled capitalistic economy fueled the economic rise of China beyond even their own dreams, giving them the wealth to build a strong, robust military on Earth as well as in space.
Now that we have enabled the extensive growth of China we are faced with the task of reigning them in, both economically and politically.
The only possible solution is a strong alliance, militarily, politically and economically of the U.S. and other like-minded nations to keep them in check. A “strong-arm” approach will never work.
We do, however, have to accept the fact that China is and will continue to be a major player, politically, militarily and economically, on the world stage and work within that environment the best we can. The days of America being the only big dog in the house, able to force our views and policies on other nations are gone. We somehow must find a way to build a global coalition to better all humanity.
