This makes sense to me. I can't believe they haven't been forced to undergo anti-trust scrutiny. In our area there is such pressure to be with either of the major insurers that most people don't even mention other insurers. On top of that, both major insurers own their own health systems, so they have a true monopoly where they can force you to spend all your money with them. I do believe that competition could foster lower prices and even better quality, but there's really no incentive for competition right now because of the monopolies that exists in the market. There should be ways to break these monopolies and allow us all greater choice and variety of price.
