Nope. It pains me to think of legitimate nonprofits being financially burdened, but in the end I have to say no because too many clearly for-profit and highly political organizations hide behind the nonprofit label. Prime example number one would be the NRA. Or how about the Trump Foundation, which was forced to close due to a “shocking pattern of illegality”? There are also far too many churches that preach politics from the pulpit. I’m not talking the social justice lessons of Jesus, but rather the “if you are a Christian you will vote for... or vote against....” I grew up hearing sitting on the pew of my local Baptist Church (back when I attended Baptist churches). Furthermore, I’m familiar enough with my Senator (James Lankford) to say with certainty the nonprofit organizations I support are not the ones he’s trying to protect. Don’t trust him. Don’t trust this bill.
