Net Neutrality is the principle that anyone can have equal access to the internet.
What this reversing the Internet from Title II to Title I will do is allow Corporations like AT&T, Comcast, and Charter to control who gets access to the Internet. If one of these major companies doesn’t like Netflix, then Netflix no longer gets enough bandwidth to survive. The same can happen to any site. It’s up to the Internet Providers. If they decided a small business is in competition with them, they can limit that business’s access to the internet. If one of them decides it doesn’t agree with a certain blogger, they lose the access to the Internet that allows them to blog. This is a direct affront to our freedom.
The current administration is saying that with Net Neutrality low income people and rural areas do not have access to the internet. I pay $10 a month through a special program with AT&T, that will disappear after the reverse. Rural people have access to satellite internet, this too could be squashed with the new rulings.
Incomes will be lost, the economy will suffer and many creative, innovative people will be stymied.
A US Citizen's freedom is more important than companies’ exploitation of usable resources to make profit.
