This bill would prohibit government agencies that receive federal funding from discriminating against any healthcare provider who refuses to perform or cover the cost of an abortion.

Discrimination in this context includes any act of denying or disqualifying a provider’s license, withholding accreditation and financial funding, or refusing to improve or create healthcare facilities and programs.

To enforce this bill, the federal courts would be allowed to order injunctions against attempts to cut federal assistance to a state government for refusing to compel a healthcare provider to perform abortion services. It would also authorize the Attorney General to lend further protection against discrimination or retaliation.
