Not until major reforms are made to the program. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to use the 6.2% I put into SS to put into my own private retirement plan. When I retire I won't be able to pull out the amount plus interest that I contributed so why keep the program. Until we make people responsible for themselves and plan rather than live in an age of consumerism, this plan will always be broken and insufficient for the purpose it is meant to solve. Also - congress should be on the same plan as the rest of us - same retirement, same health, same everything. Until that happens, get rid of it all. They will rob the fund for something else anyway and then we'll all be broke regardless - except for them.
