First, this bill is sponsored by a republican. Therefore, in my opinion it is not good for the American people, nor for any common, non-wealthy citizen. Second, I agree the adoption/foster care system is 100% broken, but I fear this would be another way for children to get lost in the system, only instead of begin lost in one state's system they could be lost in 50 states. On average it takes the common people about 8 years to adoption a child in PA (if you are wealthy and can buy a baby/child the wait time is minimal). I can only imaging the wait time if the system was run by the feds. Children could potentially go from infancy to adulthood without ever having an opportunity to be adopted into a loving home. This bill seems like a good intention but the individual states need to fix their system before making it a national, federally run system.
