I agree with Countable member "Barbwire":
"If they have been deemed disabled then they need benefits. If they are defrauding the system, then that should be dealt with separately. These disabled teens most likely have health or mental reasons why they don't attend school. Hence, being disabled. It's up to the parents, not the Fed, if they go to school as well."
To you people who refer to disabled people as "being on the dole," what do you propose we do to those who, through no fault of their own, are mentally and/or physically disabled?! Do you want them euthanized, so they won't "burden" society?! Just like the elderly, they are often looked down on or worse, ignored as if they don't exist, as if they don't have feelings like the rest of society. A lot of people treat them like they are not worth anything.
The Bible tells us:
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
(Matthew 25:41-46 NKJV)
I had a child miss "too much" school due to illness and I was actually THREATENED with having my children taken away from me!! His senior year he began exhibiting unmistakable symptoms of bipolar disorder. To this day he has been denied disability, and we can't afford competent legal help to get him approved! I can't help but wonder if he were an illegal alien or a "refugee" he would be automatically approved. . . .
