The ACA provides healthcare for millions of Americans who could not otherwise have access. The cost of treating uninsured patients threatens the very viability of the healthcare system in this country. In addition, uninsured patients only engage with healthcare providers when they are already much more acutely ill, requiring substantially more expensive treatment. The cost of that treatment falls back on insured patients and all taxpayers. Repealing this law will only result in the kind of massive economic disturbances that we haven't seen since the Bush tax cuts.
