Both sides are correct on this issue. They should change the term of income verification to 2 years. More oversight on government programs translates to more money spent by the governor to do so. Not having as much oversight translates into more money spent by the government for people "milking" the system. The social programs we have work when used right. Sadly, almost all people in low income areas want a handout. How about more programs such as the "boys club" with counslers that grew up in that situation and gave religious background, to really oversee and care about the young men in impoverished areas? Until we change the mindset of young males in low income areas, nothing is going to change. Allowing girls to be single mothers of two kids, then having 4 more kids from 4 different dead beat dads is killing everyone. Starting with the child and mother. Roughly 96% or more of male gang members grew up without ANY father, present father, or any quality leadership and morals to live to by. They are hopeless kids who look to older hopeless males with material goods and quick money. Needless to say, they are quick to turn their back on the kid, as that is almost always what happend to them. We have to show all people in all neiborhood that God made them, and they are loved. Until they have a quality male father or father figure in their life, nothing is going to change, and the social programs will just continue to get drained. As it stands Section 8 housing has roughly a 6 year waiting list for the average person. When are we going to start investing in the people and hearts/minds first instead of them being a number and just throwing more money at social programs, rather than investing in the heart/mind? The low income housing authority is overwhelmed hence why they are proposing a 3 year income verification dare.
