When people come illegally they jump the line. Many are waiting patiently and they have been vetted-whereas illegal aliens have not.
If we could look into the future where we have guaranteed incomes because robots and AI have taken nearly 75% of the jobs then we would realize we will not need unskilled and semi-skilled workers to the extent we currently do. These people will have no work and become a burden. And what will they do when they get old, sick or disabled? Then they will become our responsibility.
The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. That’s a fact. So if they disregard our laws now then they will likely repeat that behavior. They are breaking the law when they come here illegally.
When someone sneaks into the country they have not been examined for criminal past or infectious disease. Therefore they are a huge unknown and could be deadly.
There is a tendency to work under the table and send most proceeds back home. That impacts our national economy. It also lowers wages for everyone overall because illegals are likely willing to work for less. They tend to have big families and create many anchor babies. If they assimilate then there is no problem but if they don’t then it is. Where I live many have brought the same conditions they tried to escape at home, such as gangs, drugs, corruption, filth, and crime.
It would be better if these people stayed and improved their own country. We have had to go thru periods of poverty and unrest to evolve to where we are today. And we didn’t get here by leaving. We got here by scrimping and sacrificing. We worked until our joints gave out and our backs broke.
It reminds me of the story about the little red hen. She did all the work and then just as she reaped the benefits, others decided to invite themselves to the table to feast. That is simply wrong.
We chose to have fewer children to achieve a better quality of life. Therefore it is wrong that hoards of outsiders barge in and interrupt the lifestyle we have worked hard to realize. We don’t want an overcrowded country. And the people we want to invite are those that we have chosen, not those who have not been invited.
We simply cannot accept everyone that wants to come to this country. It isn’t realistic. there must be limits. And the more that we allow to simply come without being invited then that will encourage more to come.
C’mon, this is common sense. No one is against immigrants. We simply want strong borders and an orderly and fair immigration system that does not reward scamming or breaking our laws to get here.
We already pay taxes to send generous sums of money to these countries. We don’t owe them more than that. In fact if we allow people to sneak into this country then we encourage others to make the treacherous trip. Plus we reward smugglers.
The liberal media and current democratic presidential candidates are speaking out of both sides of their mouth. I remember when they were against illegal immigration. What changed? I think that’s a question we need to be asking. How did we go from one extreme to the other?
There must be an explanation.
I’m a democrat and have always voted democratic but I won’t support anyone who wants open borders, wants to abolish ICE or anyone offering illegal aliens amnesty. I want immigration reform. I want those who are not supposed to be in this country to leave. I realize that’s very complicated but it’s the right thing for them to do. They have taken something that does not rightfully belong to them. They are taking someone else’s rightful place. They have either brought family, or had children here and both of those should never have happened.
I am definitely not a Trump supporter but I do support many of his immigration stances. There must be a halt to chain migration. The 14th amendment needs to be repealed. We must mandate e-verify. Any magnets we currently have that keep illegal immigrants here need to be stopped. Employers who hire them need to be heavily fined. They should not have access to a drivers license nor should taxpayers foot the bill for their housing or health care. They should have access to nothing. I won’t go so far as to call them invaders but that’s really what they’re doing. Like I said, come legally and you are welcome. Otherwise go home.
