How many women do we know of historical importance and what did they contribute? What we do know are European males and women who play subservient roles. This has contributed to our racial and sexual bigotry. This lack of historical significance doesn’t only exist in the U.S. it’s all over the world usually enforce by religious doctrine. We need to recognize the contributions of all peoples and sexes. Do we need a special museum, Yes. But it should start in antiquity, cover both national and international women of significance. Not only for stitching up a flag or having a child but that on which the world turned like Madama Curie. Also it should show the genesis of our treatment of women in western culture today. Women prior to the Black Death were treated differently they had a much more prominent role in society and as result received some of the blame for the plague and even lost their life’s as result. When viewing this museum people should understand why we need to place women in a position of significance a long side everyone else.
