Rob Didcott is working to Men and Women Should Be Treated Equally in Family Courts.

Rob Didcott

I know from experience that the family court system causes so much stress and financial hardship due to their non recognition of parental alienation whereby children are poisoned with lies to hurt the non resident parent with the goal of stopping contact altogether. Lawyers tend to inflame the situation even more and the social service system and especially CAFCASS in the UK are very gender biased in their opinions on custody and contact. Presently any parent can make a false allegation and it tends to stick. Children should be able to be loved unconditionally by both parents and the winner takes all system is abusive especially to the children who are caught in the middle of the dispute. I think reforms should include recognition of Parental Alienation, shared parenting orders should be the starting point in any dispute. Proper punishment of either gender should court orders be broken deliberately to halt contact. Legal aid should be restored as the high cost puts most parents into severe financial difficulty in an already difficult situation where two homes are now needed.
This in turn impacts the children severely and it is them that the courts should try and protect. I persoanlly am in favour of the courts using polygraph lie detectors in the cases when allegations are made as frequently these allegations are false and sometimes horrific. Once these are made it is on you to disprove them which sometimes is impossible. The end result is that the person making the allegation gets custody while the other person gets either no contact or supervised contact in a contact centre for two hours every two weeks. This is not only humiliating but not meaningful contact. Please think about some of this and make your pledge to change the family court system. One day it might be you in this awful situation.
