These laws in Florida, Texas and some other states leads me to avoid them, even when some of my friends invite me to come visit them there. In Texas I've personally been the victim of unprovoked violence killing someone near and dear to me. These laws have freed those inclined toward violence to lash out, gun down, and fear no jury verdict. In Minnesota I have no reason to fear physical violence when I go door-knocking for a worthy candidate for election, but I would fear if my state were to adopt such a law. If ever a legislator introduced such a bill that could pass, I would strive to defeat it by all appropriate means.
