Fast Track undermines Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution. Congress, not the White House is empowered by the Constitution to negotiate international commerce agreements. By ceding Fast Track Authority to the White House, Congress loses its power to alter the text of the secretly negotiated Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP_, a trade agreement kept from the public and even members of Congress that is being negotiated by the US government and the governments of 11 other nations with approximately 600 corporate advisers shaping the US positions in the negotiations. TPP threatens our jobs, environment, health, public services, food, animal welfare, family farms, internet freedom, and banking regulations, and Fast Track legislation is designed to ramrod trade agreements like TPP through Congress. We must DEMAND our members of Congress oppose Fast Track!
