For those that don’t know, I am going to the Philippines to volunteer at a health clinic in Tacloban City in a few weeks to help with disaster relief campaigns.
Current disaster relief campaigns are aimed at clearing debris, constructing temporary homes and infrastructure, distribution of relief goods (food, water, medicine etc) and medical assistance of survivors. This is where they need YOUR help! Any contributions at all would be very much appreciated. Even a small donation can go a long way so please be generous at this time of need! If you would like to donate less than $10 (which is perfectly fine) send me a message and I will send you my bank account details. I don’t have much to offer those who donate but I will write a song for those who donate $25 or more! Or if you don’t want a song that’s fine too, just let me know (no offence taken! haha). Thank you so much.
As you all have probably heard, Typhoon Haiyan was the biggest storm to ever make landfall. It has left 5760 dead and more bodies are being uncovered. 70-80% of Leyte Province was destroyed and Tacloban City (the capital of Leyte) was affected the most. There is still no electricity or running water and the survivors are living on very basic food and shelter.
Tacloban City has been declared to be in a state of calamity (condition involving mass casualty and/or major damages to property, disruption of means of livelihoods, roads and normal way of life of people in the affected areas as a result of the occurrence of natural or human-induced hazard). The affected areas are still struggling to restore their communities. Thank you for your help.
