Sign the Petition to Gary E. Knell, President and CEO of National Geographic; John M. Fahey, Former President and CEO; Betty Hudson, EVP Communications; Declan Moore, EVP Publishing and Digital Media

We urge you to stop delivering your magazines in plastic polybags.  As an environmentally-conscious company, we feel that it's important for you to respect the environment by reducing single-use plastic bags.  Be a part of the solution, not the problem.

National Geographic is circulated to over 4 million people in the United States alone every year [1].  Although I love the content of the magazine, I cancelled my subscription because it is packaged in plastic, a known threat to the environment that never goes away..

Currently, National Geographic subscriptions create an incredible amount of single-use plastic waste that ends up in our landfills, green spaces, waterways, and oceans.  National Geographic's mission is "to inspire people to care about the planet," but this unnecessary business practice directly opposes that mission.  National Geographic even has a pledge on their site asking children to stop using plastic.  Sign the petition today and urge them to honor their own mission and end the use of plastic packaging.
