All background checks do is register legal law abiding citizens guns. Felons, like the one in Philadelphia this week, and probably the ones shooting the 59 people in Chicago last weekend could not or would even try to go through a check but use illegal weapons. So, I am just guessing, but unless the Government does something to require criminals have a mandatory sentence when using a gun, and unless the liberal Judges are restricted from giving low bail amounts for crimes using guns, and unless criminals get automatic jail time for three or more felonies, you will not solve the gun crime problem.
