It’s time to recognize the need to decriminalize marijuana at the Federal level. AG Barr’s position of not legalizing it, but allowing individual states to legalize it at their discretion while violating Federal law is ridiculously confusing. Well over 70% of adult voters have opined that legalization makes sense. It’s time to separate this drug from the highly addictive and illegal drugs like meth, cocaine, heroin, etc.. It could be managed in the same manner that alcohol sales and use are processed in states already authorizing its use. That includes age restrictions and DWI laws. Those of us who suffer chronic pain and sleepless nights, but do not want to use highly addictive pain killers or dangerous sleep aids would welcome the opportunity to enjoy the natural pain relieving qualities that marijuana offers. This is not a political issue, but one for which you would find extensive bipartisan support.
