Teachers need more pay, and schools need a LOT more funding. Even the teachers I know who get a decent salary say that their classrooms are persistently underfunded. Teachers use their own money, and PTAs fundraise, to pay for all the things our tax dollars should cover. This ensures that only kids in rich neighborhoods can have a quality public school experience, but EVERY child deserves that.
