The data does not support a grounding. Boeing should collaborate with the FAA to provide supplemental training material to ensure pilots know how to disable the automatic trim system and should provide free upgrades that improve the angle of attack system so that it uses both sensors and alerts and disables itself when a discrepancy is detected. The send to last flight of the Lion Air jet was flown with the system disabled because they knew the sensor was bad. Why did they fly it again without getting it repaired?
