No surprise, Scott Gottlieb had serious financial ties to biopharma and health firms. Gottlieb received millions of dollars in compensation from those firms. Gottlieb is also a partner New Enterprise Associates which is/had invested in 188 healthcare companies. From 2013 to 2015, Gottlieb received $414,000 in payments for data speeches, consulting, etc., most all the companies were pharmaceutical giants. As Gottlieb is stepping down, it will be interesting to see if he ends up as an an executive receiving benefits from policies he favored while at the helm of the FDA. #45 will most likely name another multi-million dollar nominee, as he obviously feels only the rich are able to lead in government positions.
