The current partial shutdown of our federal government is hurting average Americans, American businesses, and particularly our most vulnerable citizens. It is unconscionable for the U. S. senate to allow this impasse to continue. President Trump’s wall will not solve our immigration issues. The issues of illegal immigration require thoughtful open-minded discussions, plans, and legislation. The “Wall” is an absurd solution to a complicated issue. It is time for the senate to step in and end the damage being done to us by this president’s unreasonable tantrums. It is my hope that my senators will demonstrate leadership and help end this.
