    It depends upon the necessity of the medicine. If it is a stupid useless painkiller, I agree it should be taxed. If it is a prescription medication that is required for the health or safety of a patient, that is a different story. Tax minor non-necessary prescriptions, not vital ones. The “privatized company” argument doesn’t work because the government taxes private companies’ products all the time.
