In short: don't build the wall; just set $2.6 billion dollars on fire. The outcome would be the same. Repair the broken immigration system in this country - i.e. Faster request processing, thorough background checks, expand resident alien status and work Visas, encourage taxation programs for working immigrants without them receiving permanent resident status, entitlements, or full citizenship. And above all - document them with federal or state issued ID cards. Let's face it, there aren't enough funds to deport them all. I encourage each of you to get creative and look for REALISTIC solutions to the problem, and not blindly fulfill campaign promises or use the persistent problem and a talking-point or issue to galvanize the base every 2,4, or 6 years. The American public is growing increasingly impatient with these issues and demand solutions, not squabbling or misallocation of taxpayer funds. Your jobs may someday depend upon your abilities to actually implement compromise and creative problem solving.
