I do not support repeal and replace of ACA. I think the outlined plan fundamentally misunderstands and ignores the needs of low-income families. People who live paycheck to paycheck do not have money to invest in an HSA and they won't be able to afford monthly premiums while waiting for a tax refund. Without the individual mandate, the premiums for those who desire care will be too high. Data clearly show that taxpayers pay more when more people are uninsured. The high costs of ER visits end up on taxpayers when individuals can't pay. We also know that preventative care is relatively inexpensive and often eliminates the need for high-cost emergency visits. I do not support a repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
