The 1619 Project challenges our assumptions on the foundations of our American experiment. We don't need to teach it as fact to examine the claims. It may not be completely accurate but neither is our current history books. That's the point. History is very subjective once you get beyond the base events. The reason history has been so boring for many is that it is taught as names, dates, and places rather than digging into the perspectives on what happened. I appreciate the 1619 project and any project that challenges our white Eurocentric viewpoints.
