I am saying this as a person with learning disabilities.... I understand the severity of COVID-19 and people dying. But, there is no way I would have ever gotten my degree with online classes. I have dyslexia and ADHD. I need hands on learning. There is a reason why colleges offer online classes and in person classes. If I wanted to take online classes I would have signed up for online classes. I have seen people in the past semester drop out of school due to not being able to have classes in person. The computer does not have the ability to have the student stay in one place and be confined to focus on what is being taught. I have friends who have been A+ students who have gotten C’s and even failed through the pandemic because of the lack of what can not be taught through the computer. We are paying so much money for school as it is, at least give schools the option to offer in person courses. Students deserve to have an education and learn and succeed in a way that works for them. Please don’t deny them that option. I was fortunate enough to graduate last year. But, I would have either failed out or dropped out if I would have been forced to take online classes. Please don’t make these students do the same. Education is so important . Don’t take that away from people who need in person learning support like myself
