What about this act by Trump in any way smacks of blatant cronyism and coverup of illegality? Ans: ALL OF IT. Stone was duly convicted of his crimes by a jury of his peers. The law was followed. And then, to have him “forgiven” by this President before he even steps into a penitentiary is a slap in the face to all law abiding citizens and the rule of law. To boot, unless I misunderstand the word, doesn’t a “commutation” happen only after the person goes to prison - not before? 45 is definitely solely out for his own benefit. Unless our elected officials find a way to fix what this man and his enablers in Congress have done the office of the Presidency will be forever tainted.
