The only hatred I see in the "Black Lives Matter" street painting is Hatred for Racism! And such hatred is past due. In a nation that prides itself on the claim that we believe all people to be equal and to have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness such a symbol is long past due. We are long past time to admit that racism is embedded in our culture! The first step to change is an admission that change must happen. This slogan is evidence that we are coming to grips with systemic racism and the first evidence I've seen in my 77 years that we, as a nation and a culture, are ready to accept that change.
