Flynn pleaded guilty in a very generous deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller in December 2017, a deal under which—instead of being prosecuted for serious violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act—he was allowed to plead guilty to a single felony false statements charge under 18 U.S.C. § 1001. In reaching that plea deal, Flynn was represented by the well-resourced law firm of Covington & Burling. Flynn pleaded guilty to lying about his pre-inauguration contacts with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, who visited the White House in May 2017 with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov — and Trump admitted to them that he had fired Comey because of the investigation into his campaign ties to the Kremlin. Quite blatant to claim a retired general is too stupid to understand what pleading guilty means. He stated many times he understood and was guilty under oath in court. The crimes are Barr's and Trump's and the entire GOP. The lawlessness of this criminal regime is breathtaking The Justice Department is now compromised and not to be trusted by the American people as is the GOP now. Flynn's treasonous behavior and most of the indicted criminals of Trumps inner circle are treasonous and a disaster for the rule of law & for our country. There are two kinds of justice in America now: the kind that is available for the president's friends & the kind that's available to the rest of us. So much “party of law and order!” Trump, his administration, his enablers are threats to our democracy. Trump loyalists with dirt on Trump get an unlimited supply of get out of jail free cards. STAND UP FOR THE PEOPLE AND THE RULE OF LAW OR LEAVE YOUR POSITIONS OF TRUST THAT THE PEOPLE HAVE ELECTED YOU TO.
