Congress will be in session for a full work week, with the House poised to continue undoing regulations advanced by the Obama administration and the Senate set to cast confirmation votes on more of Trump's nominees.

\n\n

The House will vote Monday on a series of bills related to programs for veterans under suspension of the rules. One of those bills, the WINGMAN Act, passed the House by voice vote last year and would look to improve case management at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs by letting certified congressional staffers access more of a patient's record when they assist them. Starting on Wednesday the House will vote to overturn several Obama era regulations. Among the rules on the chopping block are one that prevents states from denying abortion providers access to government funding, and another that restricts the drug testing of individuals receiving unemployment benefits.

\n\n

The Senate will vote Monday to confirm Steven Mnuchin as Treasury Secretary and David Shulkin as Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Trump's choice to lead the Small Business Administration, Linda McMahon, will be up for a confirmation vote on Tuesday. Additional confirmation votes are possible later in the week, so check back to stay current on what's happening this week in Congress.
