The direction the country is heading in: What a question. Politically, we are heading in a bad direction as things become more divisive. I blame both the Democrats as well as the Republicans, especially the Trumpians. As to the economy, it is moving along about like one should expect through there have been bumps along the way. Among these "bumps" have been the rise in farm-based bankruptcies and suicides that can be directly related to the recent tariff wars. Racially, I have seen more ugliness being expressed. Most of it comes from the alt-right who seem to not understand that Jews and Israel are directly related and that white men are responsible for those of other colors being present in the USA. Realistically, I see little change as to the growing divide (exponential) between the pay or average workers and those above the upper 10% of wage earners. The middle class, once something we could point to with pride, is quickly eroding in the USA. Who will lead us (the American people) in the right direction? Certainly no one or no party that chooses to call the opponents names. Certainly it will only be that party led by that individual that chooses to accept responsibility and seek a way forward beneficial to the greater good. Finally, we need to take action to return our elections to the control of the citizens. Clearly, political action committees and large corporate interests are buying elections. Meanwhile, the countries' citizens are being overrun as though by the Huns or other Barbarians who seek to rape and pillage.
